Dr. Kopitzki was born in Rochester Hills, Michigan and attended Michigan State University for both undergraduate and medical school. He then went on to complete an internal medicine residency, as well as a dermatology residency, where he served as chief resident. After residency, he went on to complete his fellowship in Mohs surgery under the guidance of Roger Ceilley, MD, a former pupil of Dr. Mohs. He has performed over 20,000 cases and is a fellow of the American College of Mohs surgery.
Clinical interests include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, actinic keratosis and surgical and non-surgical skin cancer treatments. Dr. Kopitzki performs Mohs and dermatologic surgeries and sees a limited number of general dermatology patients. He is also on staff at Beaumont Hospital, Trinity Health and McLaren Health.
Dr. Kopitzki is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Michigan State University, where he teaches medical students and dermatology residents. He has lectured at national meetings, authored textbook chapters, and has been published in dermatologic literature.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, camping, fishing, fitness, volleyball and cooking on his big green egg.
