Dr. David Altman is a board-certified dermatologist and an expert in general and surgical dermatology, specializing in various skin conditions and treatments. He pursued undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and then continued at the University of Michigan for medical school. He completed a year of Internal Medicine training at Northwestern University in Chicago, then finished his residency in Dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Dr. Altman has been the chief of the Division of Dermatology at Ascension, St. John’s Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI, for the past 30 years. He also served for 17 years as a core teaching faculty member for the St. Joseph’s Mercy, Livingston, dermatology residency training program and as a clinical assistant professor at the Michigan State University School of Medicine.
He is also a member of the hospital staff at Corewell/Beaumont Hospital and Harper Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Altman is a past executive board member of the Michigan Dermatological Society, already serving as its president. He is the author of many academic publications, presentations, and textbook chapters. Dr. Altman has been named to numerous “Best Doctor” and “Top Doctor” lists, including the HOUR Detroit Magazine for many consecutive years.
