Marcela is a Nurse Practitioner at SBA Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, part of Sanova Dermatology, and has been proudly serving the Houston community for 22 years and counting! She is a long-time proud Houstonian and Texan who graduated from St. Agnes Academy High School in 1996 and her first Bachelor of Science degree in 2000 from Texas A&M College Station. After completing an internship at SBA under Dr. Suzanne Bruce’s tutelage, Marcela went on to earn her second Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2003, with high honors. Dr. Bruce's mentorship drove her to pursue her passion for cosmetic dermatology, by obtaining her Master's Degree in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Center in 2015 — again graduating with high honors.

Marcela's is committed to advancing her knowledge and skills in her field by attending seminars, conferences, and hands-on training throughout each calendar year. In the last couple of years, she has attended numerous master courses to help hone her skills and give her patients the most impactful, natural results (2023 - Dermatology Nurse Association 41st Annual Convention, Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress; 2022 – Swift Beauty Masterclass on Advanced Injection Therapy; 2021 - Cutera University Clinical Forum; 2021 - Academy for Injection Anatomy). Marcela's extensive cosmetic experience and style are exemplified by her ability to educate each patient regarding their options, sharing her expertise on combination therapies (lasers, injectables, and medical grade skincare) to help craft unique treatment plans to help achieve natural and beautiful results. She is also fluent in Spanish.
