Matthew received a Bachelors of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee in 2008. After several years of hospital work, he went on to Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska to receive a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies, graduating in 2013. Prior to joining the Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center, he spent four years doing family practice, urgent care, general and orthopedic surgery on the island of Guam and the islands of Micronesia. He continues to return annually to the islands to provide care to the local people.
Since joining the practice in 2017, Matthew continues working under the supervision of Dr. Donn LaTour and the other physicians at the Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of acne, atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, warts, seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff and rashes.
Outside of work, Matthew has a wide range of interests that mainly involve outdoor activities. After living in Micronesia, he became an avid technical and recreational scuba diver. He also enjoys backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, beekeeping, welding, woodworking and gardening.
