Suzanne Merkle, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. With over 28 years of clinical experience, she joined Associated Dermatologists in 1996 and is available at our West Bloomfield location. Dr. Merkle has been voted among the "Top DOCS" in Hour Magazine for many years.
Earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, Dr. Merkle subsequently graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School. She went on to complete an Internal Medicine internship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and her residency in dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Merkle is also currently on staff at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital where she does consults and instructs resident physicians.
Her focuses are in adult and pediatric medical and surgical dermatology including skin cancer treatment. She has extensive training and experience in cosmetic dermatology and has a passion for improving the aging face.
She uses Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau® for fine lines and wrinkles and for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). She takes pride in contouring and adding volume to the face and hands using both the Allergan and Galderma products, including the Juvaderm® and Restylane® lines of fillers. She uses Kybella® to reduce fat pockets including the “double chin.” Repairing split/stretched earlobes is another special interest of Dr. Merkle. She also dedicates time to creating a skin care regimen to suit an individual’s needs.
Outside of of her practice, Dr. Merkle volunteers at the Gary Burnstein Clinic in Pontiac. She resides in Bloomfield Township with her husband Alan Silverman, a cardiologist, and has three adult children and a dog Bentley.
