Xtrac Laser Treatment for Psoriasis
XTRAC is an FDA-approved treatment for psoriasis. Many patients have their symptoms largely disappear quickly. Further, remission of symptoms for long periods of time is common. Through the use of a highly focussed and target beam of UVB light, skin doctors are able to remove bad tissue without affecting the healthy tissue surrounding the problem areas.
A few considerations to note regarding the use of XTRAC:
- Treatment normally involves a minimum of 10-12 treatment sessions
- The use of the technique is painless in the vast majority of patients
- Most insurance companies cover the treatment
*Disclaimer: not all patients experience the same results, please consult your personal doctor for details and what is right in your particular circumstances.
Side Effects/Risks: Some patients have experienced a mild reaction similar to a sunburn or blistering in the treated area of skin. Further, in some cases a slight increase in pigmentation may occur.
